30+ businesses · Five decades · One lesson

Good financial decisions
compound.

I help people understand their choices, avoid costly mistakes, correct existing problems, and find great solutions.

I've built and sold companies, and made expensive mistakes at every stage along the way. Now I help people at every stage make the decisions I wish someone had helped me make.

Insurance, retirement and financial decisions deserve a second look before they become expensive mistakes.

I help individuals, families, business owners and professionals understand what they own, evaluate what they are being offered, and make better-informed decisions — including through fee-based insurance analysis when no product sale is involved.

The real problem

Most people don't lose money because they're reckless.

They lose it because no one ever showed them what to look for. Nobody teaches this — not in school, not at home, and certainly not by the people selling you products.

So you make your best guess. You say yes to something that sounds right at the time. And you find out fifteen years later what it actually cost you.

The problem is rarely a lack of intelligence. It is usually a lack of product knowledge and knowing what to look for. Financial products can be complicated, compensation is not always obvious, and a recommendation that is appropriate for one person can be completely wrong for another.

My job is to help you understand the decision before you make it — or re-examine one you made years ago.

Too many roads. Not enough guidance.

40s

First multi-million dollar exit

And the expensive lesson that came with it.

A specialized Insurance Advisor License allows me to charge a fee to analyze insurance,
including products I cannot sell you.

What that means for you:

You can hire me simply to analyze an insurance policy, annuity or proposal. The engagement does not have to end with a sale. I explain what you own, what it costs, what it does well, where the risks or gaps are, and what alternatives may deserve consideration.

Where you are right now

The right question changes depending on where you're standing.

Find yours. I've been through every one of these stages, and made the mistakes in all of them.

01

Understand

Uncover the unconscious influences, biases and inherited assumptions shaping your financial choices.

02

Evaluate

Ask better questions. See through sales hype. Tell real value from marketing noise.

03

Decide with confidence

Align decisions with what actually matters to you — not what worked for your parents, your peers, or the person selling to you.

The Decision Clarity Framework

Your brain is like a computer and runs according to an operating manual or program. Your operating manual was created unconsciously by the things you learned and experienced when you were younger, and was added to over time. A juvenile rulebook for processing information and providing outcomes may now serve an adult as well as it should. But it still runs underneath every choice you make. Through my program, “Operating Manual for Your Brain©” you create a way of processing inputs and generating thoughts that serve you better. It’s mind changing!

You don't need to become an expert. You need to know how to evaluate what you're being told, and who to ask when something doesn't add up. That's a learnable skill, and it pays off for the rest of your life.

Inside the framework

How can I be most helpful?

What's your next best move?

Two questions. You'll get guidance specific to your stage — where to focus, and what to be careful of.

1. Which sounds most like you right now?
2. What's most on your mind?

Fifty years of business and life experience, pointed at your situation.

If I am not the right person for the issue, I will tell you.

Bad advice is expensive. Good guidance pays for itself.
